Patrick says: "Mika is a twat"!

and what I meant was
Please lets put an end to
over marketed, expensive heartless
tacky rubbish, autotune, airbrush
should i market myself to look OUTRAGEOUS and kooky or would
it be easier if I sold records by playing safe and serene
and for the family
to save more record sales. Cliff richard. enrique iglesias.
mutton dressed as lamb.
what we all need in this time
of super superficialities is gristle
and bone and passion and soul
and true stars that havent come from
the end of showbiz academy jazz hands school
I never got an education for what
i do, I woke up with a passion to sing
and write and communicate from the bottom
of my dirty teenage heart and we should be more aware
of what is fed to us as genetically modified music
and what is organic music, this is not about gender
or sexuality, its just a bad time for music and I cant
stand on the sideline with a fake smile.
Sure, everybody likes a good show.. and and entertainer
but liberace had the flying limousine and hotpants.

I went to hear my violinist Victoria Sutherland play Schuberts last piano trio yesterday morning, it was in st marys church on the strand right opposite somerset house where we played only about thirteen hours before.
it was the first time in many months I heard a piece of music that totally seized my body with emotion. I suddenly woke up out of the forced ataraxy of the previous night.

Franz Shubert died of syphilis and mercury poisoning at the age of 30 with almost all of his compositions refused to be played by orchestras or definitely unpublished,

I demand justice for good music and firebrands who
refuse to compromise to be popular.
Or at least a good meal or two in the process to keep them going.

Stay true, free and fierce peoples and enjoy your summer....

the first part is formed
like a poem
Which is funny in a way
because of lj-
a place where people write
lots and lots of shite.
but anyways, patrick wolf
he plays too much golf.
i bet he's very sad
and very very mad.
all this because he
cannot pee.

anyways, patrick wolf
pretentious much?
music has its two forms, which is entertainment and art. and as far as i know, both forms are pretty legal. though i do agree with one part, no one should compromise to become popular. but its too unfair to point fingers and go "you are comprimising! where is your true self!" when maybe mikas uncomprimised true self is in his rubbish music. he should manage to deal with the fact that ghey-mika earns more money than him, cause obvs hes just jelizzz.

i disagree, i think people should speak out about music they think is shit, it's a great tradition, and if you make a good argument all the better for it. and music shouldnt be either entertainment or art, if it's both it's maybe perfect, but if it's only entertainment it can be unbearable.

well, i think theres a difference between critizing a musician and critizing the music. pointing fingers is hell different from speaking about music. patrick wolf clearly wants music to be all serious business, and if all music was serious business and/or perfect, how incredibly boring it would be? and some people think mika's music is 'real' (and some think patrick wolf is 'fake'), both opinions are entirely valid and equally worth (which means they're both useless). what's great about art&entertainment is that you don't need permission. whatever has deep meanings, or no meaning at all, is just the same. god knows, no one is forcing patrick wolf to listen to mika.
(AND patrick wolf did go to some college or other for "music" education and the record business buys whatever is selling (what people listen to), justice for good music? how the hell can someone define GOOD, without making their opinion superior than others?)

yeah he did get a music education, but he quit because he didn't like what they were teaching him, in particular that there was a right and a wrong way of making the kind of music with the kind of instruments he uses. and i really don't think there is anything about the way he makes music, especially in the period of the last album, that says he thinks music should be all serious-business, i mean he loves klaus nomi and kate bush, and his idol is Divine, which i think says he knows the value of entertainment in music and art and the value of "trash". and as a person who has worked for years in the music industry, and in different ends of the whole hierarchy, i completely respect his right to say that mika is a twat, if he wants to.
